2S cereals project received Matching Grants funding
Our efforts in bringing 2S cereals to a wider audience have been acknowledged.
The project “2S cereals: Introduction of brand-new cereals genetics we named “two-seasons” (2S) type into large-scale seed production at regional, European, and northern hemisphere farming fields” has been awarded funding by the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia within the Matching Grants program.
The objective is to scale-up production to enable commercialization of certified seed from six “2S” bread wheat, durum wheat and triticale varieties which were registered/patented in 2019 and 2020 and are now officially listed in both EU and Serbian Common Plant Variety lists, and to enable fast track commercialization on regional, EU and northern hemisphere cereals seed markets.
The project is financed by the Innovation Fund from the budget of the Republic of Serbia from the division of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, through the Serbia Competitiveness and Jobs Project (loan agreement with the World Bank).
